Interesting Fact about Google Checkout

by Unknown Webmaster on April 4, 2010

I’v just learned something very fascination about Google Checkout…

If your credit card has been used as a payment method on an Adwords account that gets suspended, you will not be able to use that card to purchase anything through Google Checkout.

In addition the automated message you get from Google Checkout tell you that it was your credit card issuer that declined the charges, even though Google Checkout never tried to charge the card.

I guess it was a cheap way to learn that you have to keep a couple of unused credit cards around just in case some mega corporation decides that your credit cards has been tainted and you must complete a 2 week email correspondence pilgrimage before they can be used again.

P.S. If anybody has experience getting Adwords accounts unsuspended after getting it suspended because of an “unknown issue” that occurred several months ago, I would love to hear from you.

P.P.S. Anybody out there thinking of running a couple of Adwords ads just to learn how everything works before setting up a real campaign – Don’t do it!
Bad things will happen to you :-)
